Shirline Apiou

Associate

Shirline practices in the area of insurance defence with an emphasis on first party accident benefit disputes and disputes between insurers regarding priority and loss transfer claims.

She represents insurers at all levels of Court in Ontario as well as the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

Shirline received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 1995 and her LL.B from Queen’s University in 2003.

She was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2004 and to the British Columbia Bar in 2005. Shirline joined Dutton Brock in 2007.

Shirline regularly contributes to the firm’s newsletter and provides updates to insurers on the latest legal decisions in insurance law. She also provides communication updates to accident benefit insurers on legislative changes and recent decisions.
